Use Superbloo in Claude and ChatGPT
Add the Superbloo connector to Claude or ChatGPT, sign in, bring your footage, and edit, preview and export from a chat.
Superbloo is a video editor with an AI agent built in. The Superbloo connector brings it into Claude and ChatGPT: you describe the video in a chat, and the edit happens on a real Superbloo timeline that you can play in the chat, open in Superbloo and change by hand.
Add the connector once (one click in Claude, one paste in ChatGPT), sign in to your Superbloo account, and every chat can edit video. Before the first edit, the assistant asks who should do the editing: the assistant itself, with Superbloo's tools, or Bloo, Superbloo's own editor. Nothing is exported until you ask.
| Server URL | https://api.superbloo.ai/mcp |
| Sign-in | OAuth: you sign in to Superbloo in a browser window and choose what to allow |
| Works in | Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop) and ChatGPT (web and desktop) |
| Account | A Superbloo account. Edits are free; generation, cloud renders and exports use your Superbloo credits |
How do I add Superbloo to Claude?
Use the Add to Claude link. It opens Claude's connector settings with Superbloo already filled in.
Open the link
Claude opens Settings → Connectors with the Add custom connector dialog. The name is Superbloo and the URL is
https://api.superbloo.ai/mcp. Check both and choose Add.Connect and sign in
Choose Connect on the Superbloo card. A Superbloo window opens: sign in (or create an account), check the permissions and choose Allow.
Turn it on in a chat
In a conversation, open the + menu → Connectors and make sure Superbloo is on.
To add it by hand instead, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter the name and URL above.
How do I add Superbloo to ChatGPT?
ChatGPT adds Superbloo as a plugin. The Add to ChatGPT button on our ChatGPT page copies the server URL and opens ChatGPT's Plugins page.
Open Plugins
Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
Enter Superbloo's details
Name: Superbloo. Description: Edit videos: cut, caption, add music and graphics, preview and export. Under Connection, choose Public endpoint and paste
https://api.superbloo.ai/mcp. Under authentication, choose OAuth.Create it and sign in
Read the notice, choose I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin. Sign in to Superbloo in the window that opens and choose Allow.
Use it in a chat
Start a chat, pick Superbloo from the + menu, and describe the video.
What happens when I sign in?
Superbloo shows a consent page with your workspace and the permissions the assistant asks for. Every permission starts switched on; turn off any you do not want before choosing Allow.
| Permission | What it lets the assistant do |
|---|---|
| See your projects | Open your projects, read timelines, transcripts and review packs |
| See your footage | List and look at the footage in your library, and read what Superbloo understood about it |
| Edit your projects | Create projects and change timelines: cuts, captions, graphics, audio |
| Use editing tools that cost credits | Run analysis, graphics and renders, from the workspace you choose |
| Export videos | Render finished videos and give you the download link |
| Generate new video, images, music and voice | Make new clips with paid AI models, only when you ask |
| Fetch footage from links | Download media from links you give it and add it to your library |
| Delete footage | Remove media from your library |
| Delete projects | Delete whole projects |
You can see and revoke every connection in Superbloo under Settings → Connected agents. Revoking signs the assistant out at once.
Who does the editing?
You choose at the start of a chat. The assistant asks: "Should Bloo edit this, or should I?"
- Bloo edits. Bloo is Superbloo's own editor. Describe the video (purpose, audience, length, tone, must-haves) and Bloo cuts, captions, adds graphics and sound, checks its own work, and hands back a finished version. You review it and ask for changes in the same chat. Bloo's work uses Superbloo credits.
- The assistant edits. Claude or ChatGPT works on the project itself with the same tools Bloo uses. Its reasoning runs on your Claude or ChatGPT plan; Superbloo credits are used only for renders and generation.
Say it up front ("have Bloo do it", "you edit it") and the assistant will not ask.
How do I get my footage to the assistant?
Three ways:
- An upload link. Ask "give me an upload link". The assistant shares a private
superbloo.ai/upload/…page. Open it, sign in as yourself, and drop in your files; there is no limit on how many. The assistant sees them as they arrive. A link works for 24 hours and only for the account the chat is connected to. - A link to the video. Paste a public link to the video and ask the assistant to bring it in (this needs the Fetch footage from links permission).
- Footage already in Superbloo. Your existing projects and media bin are available straight away: "open my launch video project".
How do I see the edit?
When an edit is ready, the assistant shows it in a player card in the chat. The card has an Open in Superbloo button that opens the project, where you can play it in full quality, change anything by hand, and undo any step. Choice cards (voices with previews, generation models, who edits) work the same way; in chats where cards do not show, the assistant asks the same question in text.
Does the assistant export by itself?
No. Exports use credits, so the assistant shows the edit first and asks "Should I export?". It exports only when you say yes, or when you asked for an export in the first place. Playing the project in Superbloo is always free.
What does it cost?
- Adding and using the connector: free.
- Reading projects and editing timelines: free.
- Bloo editing for you, generation (images, video, voice, music, sound effects), cloud renders and exports: Superbloo credits, at the prices in Pricing and credits. Video generation always asks first.
- The assistant's own thinking: your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
Things to try
- "Cut my interview to 90 seconds, remove the ums and long pauses, and add captions."
- "Turn this podcast into three 45-second vertical shorts, one per topic."
- "Add a lower third for Maya Chen, Head of Design, at 0:04."
- "Duck the music under the dialogue and mix it for YouTube."
- "Give me an upload link for my raw footage, then make a 30-second teaser."
Privacy and data
The assistant sees what Superbloo's tools return while it works: project names, timelines, transcripts, footage analysis and the frames it asks to look at. Your media files stay in your Superbloo workspace; the assistant does not download them. Superbloo does not see your Claude or ChatGPT conversation beyond what the assistant sends to its tools. See the Privacy policy and Security and privacy.
Troubleshooting
Claude or ChatGPT says it cannot reach Superbloo. Check the URL is exactly https://api.superbloo.ai/mcp, then disconnect and connect again so you sign in afresh.
The sign-in window closes but nothing connects. Pop-up blockers can stop it. Allow pop-ups for claude.ai or chatgpt.com and choose Connect again.
"Sign in to Superbloo to use this server." Your sign-in expired or was revoked. Choose Connect (Claude) or reconnect the plugin (ChatGPT).
New tools do not appear. Start a new chat. If they are still missing, disconnect Superbloo and connect it again (Claude: Settings → Connectors; ChatGPT: the plugin's settings).
The workspace is out of credits. Editing still works; generation, Bloo and exports wait until the workspace has credits again.
Something else. Contact us at superbloo.ai/support with the time it happened and what you asked for.
