Create your first project
Start a project, choose an aspect ratio, add footage and open the editor — the first five minutes in Superbloo.
Superbloo is a video editor with an AI agent that can watch your footage, cut it, caption it and finish it with you. This page covers the first five minutes: creating a project, setting the aspect ratio and getting footage in.
To start a project in Superbloo, click the new project button on the editor home, give it a name, and the editor opens on a 16:9, 1080p, 30 fps timeline. Change the aspect ratio in Properties, then drag footage into the Media panel.
What is on the editor home?
The editor home is where projects are created and reopened. After signing in you see a starter composer where you can describe what you want to make, and Jump back in with your recent projects. You can search projects by name and, on desktop, filter by whether their footage is local or in the cloud.
Four starter recipes give the agent a head start with a ready-made request: Cut a short, Clean up takes, Add captions and Grade it. Pick one, add your own words, and a project is created around it. Starter recipes hand the job to the agent, so read Your first edit with the agent before you use one.
How do I create a project?
Create a project with the new project button, name it, then set the composition and add footage inside the editor.
Choose New project
Click the new project button. The dialog is titled Name your video. Aspect ratio, timelines and footage are all set up inside the editor, so a name is enough to get in. You can rename it at any time.
Name it
Type a name and press Enter.
On desktop you also choose where the footage lives: In the cloud (footage uploads as you import it and counts toward your storage) or On this computer (footage stays where it is and never uploads, using no storage). Web projects are always in the cloud. See .
